My Journey with Tarot

My journey with Tarot is a very interesting one! So settle in and grab a cuppa.

Many moons ago (about 3 years ago), I went on what I thought was purely a yoga Retreat at a beautiful venue in West Lexham, Norfolk. I listened to the owner and Retreat facilitator, Fiongal Greenlaw, on a podcast and booked last minute. I was completely blown away upon arriving and realising that the weekend was more than just yoga and meditation. We practiced elements of psychism, sensed each other’s auras and met our Power Animals through a deep meditation.

Looking back, I honestly believe this is where my world opened up. For the better.

After the amazing, Retreat Fiongal and Jamie (Fiongal’s husband and business partner) welcomed me onto one of their Psychic Development Courses. I had always had an inkling that I may be psychic, or a little ‘woo woo’, yet had never had an outlet in which to try.

This course, and subsequent others I signed up to, helped develop my skills and natural senses. I suppose you could say I was learning to trust myself and my own abilities without the use of any paraphernalia. So how did I start working with Tarot cards?

In 2025, new witch friends of mine (yes, witches!), started a Tarot Circle. I honestly never thought I’d use Tarot in my readings or daily life as I felt they were unnecessary to ‘doing the work’. Whether I’m providing a reading via Tarot or just with my own senses, I am still having a conversation with my Guides. Yes, the Tarot card may have imagery and visuals that hold a clear meaning. However, I am still checking the resonance between the card and the querent (the person receiving the reading).

Once I realised that Tarot is an extension of my skills, rather than a hindrance or flamboyant flare just for dramatic effect, I jumped into it head first. A friend of mine told me it was time for me to start offering readings and I tentatively began offering readings to friends and clients. Although I felt guided by Spirit to offer readings, I didn’t truly trust this new venture until I received a Tarot reading myself. I didn’t tell her anything about myself so she couldn’t Google me. The reader told me that I use Tarot to converse with Spirit and needed to stop questioning it and myself. As soon as I decided (and you always have a choice!) to allow this avenue in my life to open, I became inundated with readings.

The more readings I offer, the clearer the channel becomes. I love my work and I love providing clarity and comfort to so many.

Long may it continue.
